A Doctor cum laude in Economics and Business Administration, he founded FIBANC in 1983, pioneering the development of investment funds in Spain. After its sale to Banca Mediolanum in 2001, he founded Grupo TREA in 2006. He has served as the President of the Círculo de Economía and was the President of EFPA Spain (European Financial Planning Association) for 17 years, now serving as Honorary President. Additionally, he has been a board member and part of investment committees for international groups such as 3i, Rothschild Iberian Private Equity Fund, and Worms (Sicav Europa). He is currently the President of Banco Mediolanum, Vice President of INVERCO (Spanish Association of Investment and Pension Funds), and a member of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts.
